Houston on the Bayou Instagram Contest

Photography is one of my favorite activities, and there’s no better way to experience it than through the wonderful photo contest #HouOnTheBayou, organized by the Houston Parks Board. The purpose of this contest is to showcase the original and unique perspective of the beautiful Bayou Greenways through each photographer's lens.

If you like photography as much as I do, this is an excellent opportunity to go out and try to find that artistic winning composition.

To participate you must capture a photo of the Bayou's Greenways. It can be of its nature, its wildlife, its history, its culture or even its people enjoying one of the many beautiful green spaces it offers. Try not to think about it as just a place, but instead as something that is able to transmit an emotion or a state of mind.

Once you have your photo, post it on Instagram with the hashtag #HouOnTheBayou before March 4th, showing the location of the photograph. Keep in mind that your account must be public in order for the committee to be able to see it.

The winner will receive a free Houston Center of Photography class plus a $200 cash prize.
