Floating on Cloud 10
A talented Houston born and raised Chef, delights us with the grand opening of his new Ice Cream Shop Cloud 10. His name is Chris Leung and after years of working for several Houston Restaurants as a Pastry Chef, he decided to open his own place and shares with us his original pallet of flavors in his creamery located at the heart of West U in Houston, TX. His secret consists in making each batch of no more than half a gallon at a time to create that explosion of flavor in every scoop.
The flavors at Cloud 10 change with each season although they keep 10 permanently. You can't miss this last weeks of summer to enjoy flavors such as smoked corn, passion fruit with white chocolate (inspired by Soto's exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts), hazelnut miso, peppercorn with strawberries, lavender with white chocolate and watermelon with anise, among others.
I couldn't resist having the Vanilla Bean Sundae and I guess the picture says it all. It had a spectacular vanilla bean ice cream along with pieces of toasted merengue, crumbled brown sugar, a white chocolate shell, mango preserve and marshmallow tablets on top. Yo Mariana was floating on Cloud 10 when I left the place! I'm dying to know and taste the new creations Chef Leung will have for us this fall.
