A New Brunch Spot in Town
I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday season and a super fun New Year’s Eve. I'm excited to start 2017 with this month's culinary recommendation, a new brunch spot in town that I’m sure it’ll become one of the city’s favorite.
The new place is called Upstairs and it’s literally up the stairs of the famous Hungry’s restaurant on Rice Village. The owners as part of their recent remodeling project included a terrace on the second floor that offers a delicious brunch inside a very modern and chic ambiance on the weekends from 11am until 3pm and a Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 4pm to 7pm.
The place was recently inaugurated with a wonderful New Year’s Eve party and besides opening its doors for brunch, they will also offer the space for private parties and events. You can choose the impeccable lounge with capacity for 170 people, a private room called the Treehouse with lots of natural light for 30 people or the beautiful terrace for 60 people.
I was invited a couple of weeks ago to a very chic brunch tasting and I can tell you it’s delicious. Here are my favorite drinks and dishes:
Mushroom Pizza – A tasty wood-oven pizza with Portobello mushrooms, arugula, homemade pesto and Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Cast Iron Migas – A delicious mixture of eggs, jalapeño sausage, homemade beans, corn and tomatoes, topped with avocado and tortilla chips served with Cuban homemade beans and fresh fruit.
Ultimate Bloody Mary – Prepared with pepper vodka and a homemade mix.
Mimosa Flight – Made with natural orange, strawberry, raspberry and grapefruit juices.
Croissant French Toast – My personal favorite! A delicious French toast made with croissant instead of the typical bread loaf, topped with strawberries, bananas and maple syrup. The picture of the post says it all!
So now you know! If you're looking for a wonderful venue for your next party or event or you just want to have a delightful brunch with a majestic view, Yo Mariana recommends you try Upstairs, you’ll love it!
